HAYDS started with a notebook I carried to work every day.

I wanted something that could hold the small parts of a day — the notes, the lists, the things you'd otherwise lose to a phone screen. Something that felt good in your hand. Something that would still feel good in ten years.

So I started making them. One at a time. By hand. From real leather sourced through a local Tennessee vendor where I can pick hides in person, with stainless and sterling hardware that ages along with the leather instead of falling apart.

Every piece is a single piece. There is no second one. The photographed journal is the exact one that will show up at your door. The marks in the leather are part of it. The character you give it over the next decade is the rest.
